We greatly appreciate all monetary donations because it allows us to purchase necessities that often get overlooked from donations. We hold ourselves accountable and can promise no misuse of funds.
We are currently searching for aid and sponsors based on the following immediate needs:
1. MEETING EACH CHILD’S MEDICAL NEEDS: Only 35 of the 75 children have medical insurance making it extremely difficult to care for them when they are injured. Our goal is to get the remaining 40 children registered for NHIS. Unfortunately, each medical card costs GHC8, for a total of GHC320.
We are unable to afford these fees. In addition, 5 of the children require Carbamazepina (siezure medication). Each prescription costs GHC300, per month, per child. Some of our children have mental disabilities and need proper diagnosis and care.

3. PAYING OUR HOUSE MOTHER’S SALARIES: Currently, our housemothers are underpaid, if at all. We are looking for sponsors to help us with their salaries. This ranges from GHC200-300 per month.

The needs listed above are our most immediate, however there are many other areas we need assistance in:
These areas include nutritional food for our children, building a garden, chicks and supplies for our chicken coop, paying the water, electricity, and gas bills, fumigating the children’s quarters for mites and bed bugs, purchasing metal bunk beds so all of our children have a place to sleep, tables and chairs to create a dining area, toys, and other educational activities. We recognize that everyone struggles and that it is not easy to give when you have so little. Please, if you cannot donate or become a sponsor there are other ways to help!

2. ENSURING EACH CHILD HAS PROPER EDUCATION: We have only been able to find sponsors for 30 of our children’s school fees. The remaining children must stay at the home instead of being given their right to education. With newly painted classrooms and a few donated desks, we would like to solve this issue by hiring a teacher. We are looking for someone to sponsor one or two teachers to come to the orphanage and teach our children. We estimate that it would cost GHC300 per month for the teachers salaries. We do not have the educational resources to set our children up for a successful future. We are also in desperate need of learning materials; writing books, white boards, markers, educational posters, textbooks, etc., and GHC15 per child for uniforms. Ideally, we could start a school on site and help use the funds made, to support the orphanage.

4. CLEARING OUR SEPTIC TANK: Save Them Young has two septic tanks that costs GHC600 to empty. We have been unable to do so and are facing sanitation issues. We are looking for sponsors to help us with this task.
